Electrocoating (EC)

Electrocoating is the highest quality coating with an excellent corrosion resistance for metal parts.

In Electrocoating, also known as EC, the solids contained in a water-soluble dip coating are deposited on metallic workpieces by an electrochemical process.

The resulting uniform film also adheres excellently even to corners and edges as well as to concealed areas. Due to the high coating quality (corrosion resistance) and the almost 100% paint recovery, the process has gained great industrial importance.

According to the deposition principle, a distinction is made between electrodeposition with anodic deposition (ATL) and with cathodic deposition (KTL).
